IntelliMESH™ Hair Extensions Aftercare Guide

Section 1: Washing Instructions

1. Brush your hair extensions and closure with an approved brush before shampooing to avoid tangles.

2. Hold your hair extensions and closure with one hand while carefully detangling to prevent pressure or tension.

3. Use a recommended silicone, sulfate, and paraben-free shampoo approved by your stylist for a strong and healthy connection. The first wash is to remove surface dirt and pollution. Rinse thoroughly.

4. Shampoo your hair a second time to thoroughly cleanse the hair and scalp. Rinse thoroughly to ensure no shampoo is trapped underneath the mesh, causing build-up.

5. Apply conditioner only to the mid-lengths and ends of your hair and rinse thoroughly.

6. Leave the conditioner on for 3-5 minutes before rinsing and combing through your hair extensions.

7. Remove 80-90% of the wetness from your hair before applying the conditioner.

8. Generously apply conditioner to the ends of your hair, avoiding contact with the root area or locks.

9. Use a leave-in conditioner on the ends to keep them silky.

10. Brush your closure once a day and your extensions twice a day. Follow your stylist's recommendations for weekly conditioning treatments. If you live in a hard water area, consult your IntelliMESH™ specialist for the correct hard water shampoo.

Maintenance Rules

1. Use recommended brushes for your hair extensions, such as a detangling brush for wet hair and a natural bristled brush for styling.

2. Use only the recommended shampoo for your hair extensions to maintain quality.

3. Avoid tight updos or high ponytails that can cause tension and damage. Opt for a loose low ponytail instead.

4. If swimming, tie your hair in a ponytail and apply conditioner or wear a swim cap to protect against chlorine or saltwater.

5. When travelling to hot countries, prevent prolonged direct sunlight exposure to avoid colour/tone changes. Keep sun creams away from your system to prevent discolouration. If you live in a hard water area, consult your IntelliMESH™ specialist for the correct hard water shampoo.

6. Use oils daily to nourish your hair and system. Apply the oil to the mid-lengths and ends, avoiding the locks, mesh, or base of the closure to prevent shedding.

7. Schedule refittings every 10-12 weeks to balance the weight ratio and prevent damage to natural hair.

8. When drying your IntelliMESH™, remove dampness by dabbing with a towel and avoid rubbing. Ensure the base of your system is completely dry, as leaving it damp can cause issues. Use a hairdryer on a medium setting, directing the airflow from root to tip without circular motions to prevent tangles. Be cautious not to apply direct heat to the closure base. Once 90% of the dampness is removed, style your hair with a natural bristle brush and apply more oil if needed. Excessive heat can shorten the lifespan of your system.

9. Protect the cuticle of your hair by using thermal protection products, avoiding high heat settings, removing excess dampness before blow-drying, avoiding backcombing, using moisture-based oils on mid-lengths and ends, and using professional hair products.

Please note: Ensure the base of your system is dry; do not leave it damp. The first wash is to remove surface dirt and pollution, while the second wash thoroughly cleanses the hair. Rinse thoroughly to prevent shampoo build-up underneath the mesh.
